The first ever Endo & Adeno Capitol Hill Day was a complete success. From the Congressional briefing to advocates fanning out across Capitol Hill for meetings, it was powerful to witness the endometriosis and adenomyosis community come together from near and far—united, informed, and determined.

Every meeting reinforced the same message: fixing CMS reimbursement for excision surgery is common sense. The problem is clear. The solution is clear. Now it’s time to act. EEFA thanks Women’s Health Advocates for partnering on this historic moment.

This work is deeply personal. For too many patients, it begins with years of debilitating pain, no answers, and no one believing them. To stand on Capitol Hill alongside patients, physicians, and advocates— pushing for systemic change for the next generation of endo and adeno patients—is everything.

We are not asking for the impossible. We are asking for equity, recognition, and access to the care that already exists. And we’re not stopping here.

CMS Reimbursement Congressional Briefing

EEFA advocates gather at the U.S. Capitol for the CMS Reimbursement Congressional Briefing, holding a sign about reimbursement discrimination and women’s health.

EEFA's first advocacy action took place at the CMS Reimbursement Congressional Briefing in April 2025. EEFA was honored to stand with passionate advocates at Capitol Hill for this important event. Together, the group had meaningful conversations about the reimbursement system that undervalues women's healthcare by 30% and pushed for policy change that would better support patients seeking excision surgery and comprehensive women's health care. Continued support of EEFA's advocacy work and patient surgery funding makes this important work possible.

1st Annual Women’s Health Capitol Hill Day 2025

EEFA advocates gather on the Capitol steps during the first-ever Women’s Health Capitol Hill Day 2025.

EFFA returned to D.C. for the first-ever Women’s Health Day on Capitol Hill. After attending the Congressional Briefing on “Sex Matters: Learn How Sex Differences Impact Medical Research, Innovation, Health Outcomes, the Economy and More,” the team met with legislative directors from Congresswoman Mikie Sherrill’s office and Congresswoman Grace Meng’s office.

Two key funding initiatives were discussed:
• $200M for the NIH Women’s Health Research Interdisciplinary Fund
• $5M for the FDA’s Women’s Health Innovation Program

EFFA also brought urgent attention to CMS reimbursement barriers for excision surgery for endometriosis. These limitations are forcing patients into ineffective ablation procedures with general gynecologists, often leading to more pain and incomplete care. Excision surgery, the gold standard, is being driven out-of-network—making it unaffordable for most. When we join forces, real change happens.

EEFA had the privilege of participating in the Second Annual Women's Health Capitol Hill Day in Washington, D.C. with Women's Health Advocates.

A huge thank you to Liz Powell, Esq., MPH for creating this incredible initiative and bringing together such a powerful group of advocates, clinicians, researchers, entrepreneurs, patients, and policymakers. Watching this movement grow over the last two years has been inspiring, and seeing how much this event has expanded since last year was a powerful reminder that women's health is gaining momentum.

While the day focused on advancing women's health as a whole, EEFA was proud to continue advocating for the endometriosis and adenomyosis community. We met with several New Jersey Senate and House offices to discuss two key priorities:

• Creating a separate CPT code and improved reimbursement pathway for endometriosis excision surgery through ongoing work with the AMA and CMS.
• Advancing efforts with the Department of Labor to explore FMLA protections for those living with endometriosis and adenomyosis.

Change takes time, but progress is happening. Every conversation, meeting, and advocate at the table helps move these issues forward.

HHS Women's Health Conference 2026

The U.S. Department of Health and Human Services (HHS) hosted its inaugural National Conference on Women's Health from March 11–13, 2026, at the Omni Shoreham Hotel in Washington, D.C.

The multi-day event convened clinicians, federal officials, researchers, and patient advocates to address critical topics affecting women across their lifespans. The event featured over 55 speakers and 16 sessions focused on bridging the gap between medical research and clinical implementation.

Key Takeaways & Announcements
Postpartum Safety: HHS launched the "Still at Risk" maternal health initiative and announced plans to standardize postpartum wristbands in collaboration with the Preeclampsia Foundation and other medical associations.
Urological Care: HHS and the American Urological Association partnered to standardize clinical practices and expand insurance coverage for women's urology.
Clinical Panels: Sessions covered a wide range of topics, including Menopause and midlife health, cervical cancer screening guidelines, autoimmune diseases, infertility, and disparities in women's health research.

Fibroid Capitol Hill Day 2026

As EEFA continues funding excision surgeries for people with endometriosis, a consistent pattern has emerged: many of the patients we support are also living with uterine fibroids. That’s why EEFA teamed up with the Fibroid Foundation for Fibroid Capitol Hill Day 2026—to learn more about this intersection and to advocate together for coordinated research, coverage, and care that reflects real patient experiences.

Alongside Liz Powell of Women’s Health Advocates, EEFA met with the offices of Congressman Kean, Congressman Walkinshaw, and Senator Booker to advocate for co-sponsorship of an upcoming resolution and to begin laying the groundwork for a more comprehensive bill expected later in the year.

Key facts shared that day: up to 80% of all women will develop fibroids by age 50; Black women are 3x more likely to develop fibroids than white women; and fibroids are the leading cause of hysterectomy in the U.S., many of which are unnecessary. Progress happens when patients are centered, data is shared, and lawmakers are willing to listen.

Screening Saves Lives: Closing the Gap in Breast Cancer Care

EEFA advocates meet with Representative Sarah Elfreth’s office during Women’s Health Capitol Hill Day 2025.

EFFA believes that screening saves lives across every area of women’s health. That’s why we proudly support efforts to close the gap in breast cancer care and expand access to early detection.

The progress made in breast cancer awareness, screening, and CPT coding offers a powerful roadmap for advancing endometriosis care. By studying how breast cancer secured dedicated coding, research funding, and clinical pathways, EFFA is working to bring similar clarity and priority to excision surgery and endometriosis treatment. Early diagnosis, proper coding, and equitable access should not be luxuries—they should be standard for every woman-facing condition.

Power of X Conference

Endo Excision for All speaks at the Power of X Conference hosted by Cure. and Women’s Health Horizons.

Endo Excision for All's Founder, Nicole Notar, was honored to speak at the Power of X Conference, hosted by Cure. and WHH Women’s Health Horizons, bringing the patient voice to a room of clinicians, researchers, biotech, pharma, and industry leaders shaping the future of women’s healthcare.

The conference highlighted how meaningful conversations across sectors can advance awareness and equitable access to excision surgery. For too long, patients have been excluded from these spaces—yet when patients are included, outcomes improve. EFFA remains committed to ensuring patient voices are centered in healthcare innovation.

Always Advocating

Endo Excision for All doesn’t need a full Hill Day to advocate. We show up as needed—following up on action items with policymakers, keeping our mission in front of legislators, and pushing for systemic change in endometriosis and adenomyosis care every step of the way. Advocacy is most effective when it is consistent, and we remain committed to advancing our priorities long after the events end.

Donations stay focused on patients.

100% of donations to EEFA fund excision surgery grants. Our advocacy work is supported personally by our founder as part of her mission, so every dollar you give goes directly to helping patients access care.

What We’re Working On

Women’s Health Advocates Partnerships

Through our partnership with Women’s Health Advocates by Liz Powell, EEFA drives two coalitions that drive federal policy and systemic change for women’s health.

Endometriosis and Adenomyosis Coalition

Committee partnership

Endo Excision for All serves on the Endometriosis and Adenomyosis Coalition, working alongside patients, clinicians, and partner organizations to advance federal policy for endometriosis and adenomyosis care.

Our current priorities include securing CMS reimbursement for endometriosis and adenomyosis treatment, building clinician and public support through an imaging protocol and petition, and advocating for FMLA protections and legislation such as the pending bill with Representative Miller-Meeks. We also coordinate congressional briefings, including a planned sexual health briefing, to educate policymakers and connect advocates with their representatives on Capitol Hill.

GOSH Coalition

Gynecologic, Ovarian, and Sexual Health Coalition

Committee partnership

Endo Excision for All contributes to the GOSH Coalition (Gynecologic, Ovarian, and Sexual Health Coalition) by helping expand access to care across interconnected women's health conditions.

Our current work includes building a PMOS (previously PCOS) provider directory through both clinician self-submissions and patient recommendations, advancing a pelvic floor physical therapy letter to CMS, and supporting an imaging initiative to improve diagnosis and treatment pathways. We also collaborate on a planned sexual health congressional briefing to elevate gynecologic and sexual health on Capitol Hill.
